The library has extensive
holdings in the ecclesiastical sciences, theology, philosophy, scripture,
history, the humanities and literature. There are about 100,000 items
and the collection reflects the Catholic focus of the college. It caters
for both undergraduate and post-graduate education. Each year it receives
Interloan requests from all parts of New Zealand for articles in theological
journals and periodicals which are a significant part of its resources.
The library is open throughout the working week. For detailed opening
hours, click here.
Periodicals
in the library:
We subscribe to over 100 periodicals. These may be read in the library
but may not be borrowed. A self-service photocopier is available.
Borrowing
books from the library:
Anyone may join the library as a subscription member. There is a $100
bond, and a charge of $20 per term / $40 per semester or $80 per year
for library usage. Catholic priests and Marists are charged the bond
fee only. The bond is refundable provided all material has been returned.
Up to four books may be borrowed at a time for a maximum period of
four weeks. Books may be renewed in person or by telephone provided
other users do not require them. We reserve the right to recall books
in special cases. Reference works, and books on reserve for papers
may not be borrowed.
