How did you learn about GSC?
From a priest who studied here. He said the Church needed young adults to study theology – I decided to take him up on it.
What were you doing before being a fulltime student?
Earning money! I have spent the last four years as a youth worker (OK – I wasn't earning very much money) for the Christchurch diocese.
Why are you studying at GSC?
I loved working for the Church and helping people, but along the way I realised there was so much more I could learn about my faith and the Church. I wanted to go deeper into what it means to be Catholic. I know the basics but figured that fulltime study would take me to a different level and equip me for further (and maybe better paid!) ministry.
What is your impression of the place?
- Small class sizes
- Great library
- Friendly environment
- Helpful lecturers
- Challenging lectures – certainly no spoon-feeding
Do you have any suggestions?
- You need to improve your website!
- I would like to see more young lay students studying here, the place is dominated by seminarians!
Any final comments?
If you are at all interested in theology, teaching religious education, sacramental programmes or whatever, this is a great place to come and learn.
