I am a Marist priest from Wellington, ordained in 1983. I received my Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology on leaving the seminary, and my first appointment was to the staff of St. Patrick's College, Silverstream. While on the staff there, I completed my Bachelor of Arts. After teaching at St. Patrick's College, and having ministered in the parishes of Te Puke and Whangarei, I became a staff member of the Archdiocesan Religious Education Centre, Wellington . During that time, I was given leave to study for my Master of Theology at Weston Jesuit College in Cambridge, Boston. On completion of my Masters, I returned to the staff of the Religious Education Centre until 1998 when I was appointed to the parish staff of St. Mary's Blenheim. In 2002 I was contracted to the Marist Coromandel Project Team for two years working principally to provide adult education in the faith for the parishes in the Thames-Coromandel region after which I was appointed to act as a resource person for adult education in the faith in the Auckland Diocese, residing at St. Anne's Parish, Manurewa. I was given leave in 2006 to begin my doctoral studies in theology through the Catholic Institute of Sydney, Strathfield, Australia, under the auspices of the Sydney College of Divinity. This doctorate in theology was completed and awarded May 2009.
