COVID -19 CORONAVIRUS

CURRENT SITUATION

Currently we are in the stage of seeking to prevent the spread of infection which may occur on campus. We have emphasised there the need for (a) regular proper handwashing; (b) Hand sanitising; (c) use of paper towels rather than cloths; (d) covering coughs and sneezes with tissue or elbow.

WHAT TO DO IF SICK

Staff and students are strongly advised to stay home if they have any signs of sickness, influenza or any signs relating to COVID – 19 . Students are advised to notify lecturer of their intended absence from class. Staying home sick will override the requirements for 80% attendance, while the crisis is on.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THE COLLEGE IS INSTRUCTED TO CLOSE?

All must be prepared in case the educational institutions are instructed to close – which is possible, but not imminent, today. When such a decision is received this will be communicated to you by email. After that time, students will no longer have access to the college.

BUT PLEASE NOTE:

ALL PAPERS WILL CONTINUE USING DISTANCE MODE (Moodle and Zoom) AND ALL STUDENTS, USUALLY ON CAMPUS WILL BE EXPECTED TO FULFILL THE REQIREMENTS SET DOWN FOR DISTANCE STUDENTS FOR THE WEEKS THE COLLEGE IS CLOSED. IF A PAPER DOES NOT CURRENTLY HAVE A DISTANT MODE, LECTURERS WILL POST READINGS AND WORK ON THE MOODLE PAGE FOR THAT WEEK, IN THAT COURSE

This is a major world crisis, with enormous consequences for many people. All of us should do everything in our power to assist the authorities who are guiding people about how to act appropriately in these days
