After school I studied Marketing and Organisational Change & Management at Waikato University and then worked as a project manager in various design/advertising agencies at their offices in Auckland, Wellington, London, Paris  and Amsterdam.  Later I changed tack and worked for a theatre company as part of the team co-ordinating events in the Civic, Auckland Town Hall and Aotea Centre.  For the last few years I set that aside to focus on being mum to primary-school aged boys, Matthew and Jacob.  While they are at school, I am here to assist at Good Shepherd College.

My interests are very much aligned with my boys in that I spend an inordinate amount of time playing Minecraft, Settlers of Catan, Risk and with toy army men.  Outside of playing with my boys, I enjoy reading, Sudoku, sci fi, cinema and theatre.

Research Interests:
As a mother of children who have learning difficulties, I am particularly interested in exploring alternative ways to learning that are not currently adopted in New Zealand’s Education System, but have greater acceptance in America and Canada.  My eldest boy is fortunate to be benefiting from using these different learning styles via a teacher aide we employ who has been trained in them, and we meet monthly with a New York trained specialist to continually adapt and employ new strategies that the school system is not yet abreast of.  Gaining a greater understanding of how the brain works and learns is a fascinating area of study to me.
